This week in class we have concentrated on running through some worded maths questions that tend to cause the most concern and confusion – speed/distance/time, ratio and proportion. Probability and area and perimeter of compound shapes.
The children spent the lesson learning how important it is to read the question properly.
We have given every student a book to read this week – it is Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo and we will devise a sneaky quiz for next week to determine which students actually do read it properly!
