Just a few thoughts about Mock Exams!
Now that advertisements for Mock Exams are popping up on various social media platforms, we would advise caution when selecting which exams to book:
Is the provider using the correct format for the Mock Exams, appropriate for the schools which you are targeting ?
Are the mocks held face to face or are they online?
We believe that a classroom environment with invigilators is the most beneficial for children. These mocks simulate the real 11+ and enable children to become familiar with the procedures that they will ultimately encounter on the big day.
Does the mock provider provide access to the question papers and your child’s completed answer sheet, in addition to a full section by section breakdown of scores achieved in each discipline?
Does the mock provider provide a report to show the number of children in the Mock Exam cohort and your child’s ranking within that cohort?
